Schneider Electric and the Center for Global Enterprise highlight
the decisive role of digital supply chain in reducing cost while
promoting sustainable growth
Rueil-Malmaison (France), October 7, 2016 – Jean-Pascal Tricoire, Chairman & CEO of Schneider Electric, and
Annette Clayton, CEO and President, North America Operations, and Chief
Supply Chain Officer, Schneider Electric, The CGE is a non-profit research group focused on the study of
contemporary business and best management practices impacting our
society. Schneider Electric, the global specialist in energy management
and automation, is a member of the CGE.
Based on the testimonies of 24 companies in charge of the largest global supply chains, ''''Digital Supply Chains: A Frontside Flip'''' exposes the actions they have taken to adapt to the digital supply
chain of the future. According to the report, companies which commit to
digitising their supply chains can expect to save up to 50 percent on
costs. In this white paper, Schneider Electric highlights its vision of a
supply chain designed to meet the needs and buying behaviors of its
customers. The Group’s practices confirm CGE’s research findings, which
highlight the decisive role of digital supply chains (DSC) in reducing
procurement and supply chain costs while promoting sustainable growth.
Quoted in the white paper, Jean-Pascal Tricoire said: “As a company,
we must differentiate ourselves to our customers in the market in all
that we do. It’s essential to have end-to-end visibility and capability
in our supply chain. A Digital Supply Chain — including use of the
internet, big data, analytics and other technologies — enables us to do
so much more today than only a few years ago. This differentiation grows
our revenue and market share while also cutting costs significantly.
Two examples illustrate how our Digital Supply Chain differentiates us.
It is about visibility and collaboration, and differentiated service for
customers according to their specific needs. Our business customers
expect to know at all times where their products are in our supply chain
process, as they rely on us 100% to then deliver on their own projects,
which digital enables now fully. The second involves sensing new
business opportunity on social media and adapting accordingly our
service offer.”
